A little person’s arm, depicting the correct anatomy as a celebration of our bodies and dwarfism. 'Little Rebels' is tattooed across the forearm, alongside '1994,' symbolizing that I was born to rebel against the stigmas placed on my community. The switchblade represents our strength—we may be small, but we are mighty. We know how to protect ourselves and persevere.

Sophia Rene is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in oil, watercolor, and acrylic painting. With over a decade of experience, she explores themes of identity, inclusivity, and the personal worlds of little people, women, fem, and non-binary individuals. Her work challenges societal norms and seeks to shift perspectives on her community, particularly by examining how European artistic traditions have contributed to discrimination and hatred toward little people. Through an emphasis on intersectionality, she highlights the layered experiences within her community.
Sophia has exhibited her work in New York City, using her art as a means of education and advocacy. As an educator, she has taught at the college level, emphasizing self-trust, playfulness, and skill-building through intuitive muscle memory rather than rigid perfectionism. She is currently working toward her PhD with the goal of becoming a professor in fine arts while continuing her practice as a professional artist, dedicated to declaring and preserving the history of her community through art.
Based in North Carolina, Sophia remains committed to redefining narratives and fostering greater inclusivity in the art world.
