I draw celebrities held in the highest regard riding narwhals through outer space. So naturally, Prince easily fits into this series. To be honest, I’ve only ever admire Prince from a distance. So this portrait was a huge opportunity to make a deep dive into this mystery of a human. Dearly Beloved is meant to capture his impeccable creativity and style, his ability to embrace masculinity and femininity at this same time in the sexiest of ways, his confidence, and I hope that undefinable quality that makes him so inviting.
