24” x 36” mixed media with frame.

Indigo Fae is a captivating mixed media portrait that blends the ethereal with the serene. Featuring a woman with African features and striking blue skin, the piece exudes tranquility as she basks in cool, ambient light. Her impasto abstract wings, adorned in vibrant hues of white, blue, and orange, appear to glow with an otherworldly radiance. Set against a deep, dark blue background, the contrast highlights the glowing wings and the peaceful presence of the subject, creating a harmonious interplay of light and shadow.

Zeus Alexander hails from the serene countryside of Northern California, where he was raised in a large religious family. Growing up surrounded by diverse cultural and spiritual influences, Zeus developed an early appreciation for the richness of varied perspectives. His unique upbringing fostered an openness to different viewpoints, which would later shape his artistic journey.

Among his diverse circle of friends, Zeus discovered a profound fascination with personal and spiritual exploration. It was through these relationships that he was introduced to the world of art. Initially, his creative endeavors were driven by a desire to produce visually captivating works. However, as he delved deeper into philosophy and spiritualism, Zeus began to see how these passions could merge within his art.

Currently based in Raleigh, North Carolina, Zeus Alexander’s work reflects his journey through introspection and enlightenment. His paintings are characterized by their ethereal quality and emotional depth. Using dramatic lighting and complementary color schemes, Zeus explores the tension between opposing forces—light and dark, ignorance and knowledge, inner conflict and inner peace. These contrasts are not just visual elements but integral to the thematic core of his art.

Zeus’s pieces invite viewers to engage with the complex interplay of these dualities, offering a space for reflection on their own personal and spiritual journeys. His work is a testament to the power of art as a means of exploring and understanding the profound and often paradoxical aspects of the human experience.
