This piece represents all my emotional responses to the outcome of the 2024 Presidential election. It represents a dream that has died and what comes from death, something new. Many times with this piece I got to a place where I was happy with it. And many times I kept going because I had more and more to feel. I thought I had completely ruined it the last time. But then I took it home and remembered what my abstract painting teacher told me, “a painting can be done in one stroke”. So I made 2 more strokes with mica paint, and it was over.
