Dolly Parton and cats share a lot of similarities: They're both fiercely independent and live life on their own terms. They're both graceful, but sharp, knowing that sometimes you have to use the purr, and sometimes the claws. And they're both endlessly stylish and unapologetically glamorous.

Matt McCarthy is an analog and digital collage artist who uses cats as his primary subject matter. His surreal creations feature domestic felines (usually at a gigantic size) perched on top of buildings, stalking through cities, and generally just being cats. McCarthy views his work as surreal postcards from an alternate timeline and he attempts to create works that shock and delight while also honoring the animals humans have cherished for millenia. McCarthy’s work has been featured widely in print and online and he’s worked with major companies and brands to create content in his signature style. You can find his work on social media @mrmattmccarthy, on the web at mrmattmccarthy.com, and for sale on Etsy at mrmattmccarthy.etsy.com.
