018 - An Ambitious Downpour by Carried

"9 to 5" is my favorite Dolly song because an opening lyric "...Pour myself a cup of ambition..."   I played with the idea of what an abundance of ambition might look like as art and knew I needed to let the paint run free.  I layered every pink I had, let go of any preconceived notions, and gave the canvas a most ambitious pour!

I came to the first Dollyweird and was inspired to try to create some kind of art for the joy of it.  My skill was best suited to pouring paint, and, in the process, I discovered a new passion.  As a Cancer Survivor, I have found art to be an excellent way to play with creativity and practice acceptance by deciding to love whatever the canvas happens to look like when the paint-pouring cup was empty.  I think my art reflects the attitude I bring to the studio.  I am truly happy to still be here, and I welcome whatever shows up on the canvas.
